More About Time Tracking Software
I want to talk a bit more about time tracking software in this entry. In a previous post I discussed many benefits of timekeeping software, but I’d like to elaborate on the usefulness of this solution.
The whole point of time tracking software is obviously to make sure that employees are properly logging all hours spent on the job. It’s essential that every employee in your company or organization carefully and accurately notes the hours worked for any given day of the week. But they need as much flexibility as possible in this age of information technology, and an intuitive, user-friendly interface enables that flexibility. Employees should be comfortable with submitting their timesheets electronically.
You, as their supervisor, don’t want to deal with the hassle of shuffling physical timesheets that are submitted every week. Then there is the problem of archiving the submitted timesheets. To store all those records you’ll need additional file space and thus, more office space.
Time tracking software that is web-based allows all employees in your organization to enter hours for a work week at any time of day from any location. All you need is an Internet connection and a web browser, which all computers naturally have. If for instance an employee is working remotely, hours can be noted instantly after logging on to a session. When an employee calls in sick, he or she can log the sick day from the home computer. And your employee’s privacy is protected because each session is secure as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol is used whenever someone signs in to the system. Once the hours are submitted, you using the same software are able to instantly approve an employee’s submitted timesheet. It’s a simple and reliable solution.
An employee can also verify paystub information for the week electronically, confirming that the hours submitted were duly noted and approved by management. Employees can also easily note all hours already used for time off.
So essentially, time tracking software is a win-win solution. Both management and staff can take full advantage of the software’s versatility and ease of use.
